July 2008 Silver Sneakers Class Schedule

 

W.O.W – Women on Weights

Four intense weeks of information and practical workout sessions in a small group of women to increase knowledge and confidence in the workout room. Space is limited in each session. Please check with Guest Services for schedule of sessions and session rate.

T’ai Chi

T’ai Chi Ch’uan is a complete system of exercise, meditation and self-defense. The practice of these gentle movements reduces stress while improving health, balance, strength, stamina and self-confidence. Register monthly -- $30 members/$120 non-members

Massage at the Y

We have two in-house certified massage therapists who specialize Swedish, deep tissue and pain relief. Please contact Paul Freer (401-5478) or Jeanne Freer (401-0972) to make an appointment.

Kid Power

Kid Power is a 4-week progressive fitness program designed for youth ages 7-13. This energetic class consists of running, jumping steps, weight training, cycle, yoga, circuit training, nutrition classes and other fun fitness activities. Space is limited in each session. Please see Guest Services for schedule and session rates.

Y-Team

A co-ed strength and conditioning program for teens.  The class works with a fitness instructor to help them learn how to set attainable goals while teaching them the skills to reach those goals.  Ages 14-18 (Ages 14-15 must have teen certification) Cost:  $25 members only.  Class meets twice a week for 4 weeks. Contact Wellness Director for more information.

Taekwondo

Taekwondo is one of the most popular martial arts in the world. Taekwondo develops coordination, balance, stamina, etiquette, physical fitness and flexibility. Students will learn new forms or self-defense techniques, and increased self-confidence in accomplishing the goals set forth in the curriculum. Greensboro Black Belt Academy runs the Taekwondo program in association with our YMCA. Register at the Guest Services desk. Power Bootcamp

In the same intense style as our weekly class, Power Bootcamp is a systematic training that will help you lose weight, lose inches, increase strength and cardio endurance and boost overall health and confidence! The class incorporates a wide variety of exercises, health and weight-loss information and maybe even a prize or two upon completion of the session. Sessions vary in days/times and mornings/evenings, member and non-member rates available. Please contact the Wellness Director for more details or check with Guest Services for current session information.

Family Fitness Bootcamp

In an effort to lower to childhood obesity statistics this program offers weight loss, family fitness games, strength training, cardiovascular exercise, indoor cycling, yoga, Pilates and fit lifestyle training. Offered to parents and youth ages 7-13. Sessions vary; member and non-member rates available. Please contact the Wellness Director for more details or check with Guest Services for current session information.

Bellydancing

Join the Bellydancing class to learn basic fundamentals and techniques of Traditional and Cabaret style Middle-Eastern dance! Beginner and Intermediate classes are available. Please see Guest Services for current session information.

FT4L Fitness Bootcamp

F.T.4.L isa physical conditioning program for men and women that will help you achieve your fitness goals.  If fat loss, improved energy, increase in strength, flexibility,and cardiovascular health is your goal, then WE are here for YOU!
